In Polis, you have the ability to designate contacts as a high priority or as a do not knock. This comes in handy when you are targeting a specific demographic on a list above others, or if you want to see important information on a contact without sending a canvasser to their door.
Note: It's important to remember that the system defines high priority and do not knock contacts through designated lists. This means you have to upload the specific .csv to the system first, and from there you can define the contacts as high priority or do not knock.
A high priority contact will show up in the app as a gold star instead of the normal Polis green dot. This sets that contact apart as someone for a canvasser to give more attention and focus on.
To set this up, you first need to upload your list of high priority contacts as a separate contact list. (Click here to learn how to upload contact lists)
Once your list is created, you'll need to go into your active campaign and selected the lists you intend to knock:
From there, you can click on the selected lists and mark them as high priority:
In the app, the high priority contacts will appear when a route is generated with the gold star over their address on the map as well as on the generated walk book.
Do Not Knock
The process for adding do not knock doors is exactly the same as high priority, it's just a matter of selecting the list with "(DO NOT KNOCK)" next to it:
All other lists that are connected to the campaign and are not designated as high priority or do not knock will show up in the app normally.
